Story Jam on 4/8

Story Jam on 4/8

The next Story Jam is on April 8th, 5:30-7:30pm at the Durham SW County Library. Come at 5:30 to practice your story or 6:15 if you just want to hear stories.

The prompt is Spring Cleaning. We all have lots of Stuff, stuff that gets shoved in the back of the closet and forgotten about, stuff that gets unexpectedly rediscovered, stuff that we let go of and later regretted, stuff we wished we could've let go of sooner. Prepare a 5 minute story about an object that has held you up or weighed you down.

Wait, What's a Story Jam?

A Story Jam is a casual meetup where you can practice storytelling in front of a supportive audience or be a member of that supportive audience. Either way, you get to hear great stories!

Format: The first 45 minutes of a Story Jam are for small group practice. So come at 5:30 on 4/8 if you want to try your story out in front of 1 or 2 other people.

The rest of the jam is just for telling stories. So if you just want to listen, or have a story ready to go, come at 6:15. At that point, we'll put names in a basket--storytellers will be drawn at random (with a few minutes to get ready before they go on).

Story Jam is a fun, free good time, which everybody could use right now.

Wait, What's Story Connection?

The mission of Story Connection is to help people find their unique voice and create community through live storytelling performances and classes.

You can hear some of the stories that have been told at performances on the podcast.
